Red wine food matching
If you are looking to try some food and wine matching at home, above are a few suggestions for matching our Ka Tahi reds.

And if you want to try out some of your own, here are a few good tips to successful matching:
  • Match the flavour intensity of your wine with the flavour intensity of the food.
  • It’s better to match the wine with the sauce in your meal, than the meat.
  • The wine should be sweeter than the food you are pairing with.
  • The wine should be more acidic than the food you are pairing with.
  • Bitter wines (usually reds) are balanced out with fat.
And there are always new matches to be made, so don’t be afraid to give it a go! Let us know how you get on, or if you have found any great combinations!
